[californiadisasters] On This Date In California Weather History (June 18)



1982: Forni Ridge (El Dorado Co.), CA, established a one-hour state rainfall record with 4.41".

1975:
High winds generated a sandstorm on Interstate 15 between Barstow and Bake from late on June 17th into the morning of June 18th.
More than 800 people were stranded.

1957: Half Moon Bay had a high temperature of 83° F.

1957:
1957: It was 105° F in Escondido, the highest temperature on record for June.
This also occurred on 6/11/1979 and 6/26/1994.
It was 97° F in San Diego, the highest temperature on record for June until 6/10/1979, when it reached 101° F.

1950: End of a 13 day stretch with below normal average temperatures in Fresno.
Low temperatures were all below 60° F and the "warmest" high during this stretch was only 88° F.

1934: A trace of rain fell in Fresno.
This was the last day precipitation fell in the water season and the total stood at 4.43", the least amount ever recorded.
