2013: Showers and thunderstorms impacted the San Joaquin Valley, while 1"-2" of snow fell in the southern Sierra Nevada.
Cold air funnel clouds were reported near South Dos Palos (or about 10 miles southwest of
Los Banos).
Hail measured at one quarter to one half inch in diameter from a strong thunderstorm that passed over Five Points, the north side of Hanford, and finally to Dinuba during the afternoon hours.
1994: A small tornado near Livermore skipped across a residential housing development causing minor damage.
1984: Gusty winds as high as 55 mph blew down trees in the southern Sierra and knocked down almond trees and cotton crops and damaged some roofs in the San Joaquin Valley.
1978: An F0 tornado touched down near Buttonwillow.
1898: It was 118° at Volcano Springs, CA, (now named Mundo in Imperial Co.). 1978: An F0 tornado touched down near Buttonwillow.
This established an all-time April high temperature in the U.S.
1898: Highest temperature ever in April at Fresno, 101° (also set on April 24, 1910). Visalia reached a sweltering 103°.
