Congrats to the Dirty Bird Wrestling team for finishing the season with a 3rd place trophy at this year's Class 5A State Championships. They brought home the first wrestling team trophy Volcano has had since becoming a 5A school. We had ten state placers the most in school history. Congratulations to the following Dirty Birds:

Our two individual State Champions had such a great tournament and ended the season in dominant fashion. At 182lb's "Nasty" Nate Sierra won a 6-0 Decision to earn a State title. At 220lbs Senior Mike Budick capped a perfect season with a pin in the state finals ending his career with a 43-0 record, cementing himself as one of the most dominant wrestlers in New Mexico history. Mike set a record for the most consecutive pins in the first period, also ended his career with all pins. Please feel free to give these guys the praise and respect they deserve they all have earned it.

Congratulations to our Cheerleaders who at the APS Cheer and Dance Invitational took home the 1st place trophy.
