CA-SRF Corral Complex: Joseph, CA IMT1, 11,777 acres, 17% contained.  Expected containment 10/1. Creeping and backing fire was observed with some open flame in the heavier ground fuels. There was minimal fire spread. With the reduced fire behavior and increased resources, significant progress was made today on the direct, indirect, and contingency lines. There is a community event scheduled in the community of Denny this Saturday. Incident personnel are working closely with community representative to inure safety and minimize disruptions to both the incident and event.

CA-TGU Deer: Cone, CAL FIRE Team 2, 11,429 acres, 93% contained. Expected containment 8/29. Continue to improve all handlines. Mop up will continue to provide black line depth to reduce the threats of spots across containment lines. Hand crews will need rotary wing support to shuttle personnel to and from the fire. The fire suppression repair plan has been started. Personnel continue to deepen black line to reduce any spotting potential from interior islands.

CA-TNF American Fire: Opliger, CA IMT1, 26,114 acres, 97% contained. Expected containment: 08/29. The western flanks experienced little to no observed fire behavior. The northern flank also displayed little fire activity with scattered, smoldering stump holes. Northeast to eastern flanks exhibited active surface fire in the bottom of the canyons. The fire perimeter remains cold. The eastern portions continue to hold significant heat from firing operations from previous night. These areas had increased smoke production with active backing and flanking fire. Recreational opportunities remain open in French Meadows and adjacent surrounding recreational areas. Good progress continues in Suppression Repair.

CA-SRF Butler Fire: Minton, NORCAL1, 21,217 acres, 45% contained.  Expected containment: 09/15. High relative humidity kept the fire limited to smoldering in heavy interior fuels. All divisions continue repairing fire line, mopping up where possible and backhauling excess equipment. Strategic operations plan report points to a long term fire event as the fire burns within indirect containment lines.

CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: Minton, NORCAL1, 14,720 acres, 95% contained. Expected containment 08/30. Fire exhibited smoldering and creeping in interior pockets. Burning operations on Sawyers Bar road produced active backing fire into Jackass Gulch. Planned actions for tomorrows shift include; mop up, patrol, and hold hand lines. Continue suppression repair. Complete backhaul of structure protection equipment. Monitor backing fire in Jackass Gulch down to Sawyers Bar road.

Fire growth potential continues to diminish with successful firing operations over the previous operational periods. iRAWS that are in place continue to enhance weather reporting accuracy for fire crews. Previously, where possible extreme fire behavior potential existed due to topography and fuel loading, the successful implementation of strategic firing operations mitigated the risks.  A Spike Camp is being used to reduce fatigue associated with what would be extended travel times increasing productivity of line resources. The Team continues to work with the Placer County Air Pollution Board regarding smoke effects to local communities. Approximately 105 combined-type structures are threatened.

CA-SRF Butler Fire: Minton, NORCAL1, 21,217 acres, 45% contained.  Expected containment: 09/15. High relative humidity kept the fire limited to smoldering in heavy interior fuels.  Very steep rugged terrain with snags and rolling material in hard to access areas continue to hamper the ability to construct direct and indirect fire line. A strategic operations plan has been developed that identifies management action points and modeled fire behavior. Strategic operations plan report points to a long term fire event as the fire burns within indirect containment lines.

CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: Minton, NORCAL1, 14,720 acres, 95% contained.   Expected containment 08/28. Fire exhibited smoldering and creeping in interior pockets.
