The Los Angeles County Arboretum, closed since windstorms damaged half of its trees, was scheduled to reopen Monday, a week ahead of schedule.

Previous: Damage at the Arboretum

The high winds of Dec. 1 destroyed 235 trees and left more than 700 more in need of extensive pruning, arboretum staff said on the facility's website.

More than 150 workers from several public agencies worked to help restore the gardens.

The arboretum is located at 301 N. Baldwin Ave. in Arcadia. Admission is $8 for adults and $3 for children.

The gardens were scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 26, with the final admission at 4:30 p.m.
