[californiadisasters] Fire Weather Watches For LA / Ventura Co's (10/24/11-PM)

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON OVER THE LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY
MOUNTAINS FOR GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

.HIGH PRESSURE WILL FORM OVER THE SURFACE OF THE GREAT BASIN ON
WEDNESDAY...RESULTING IN GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS OVER THE LOS
ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING...
WHICH WILL THEN SPREAD INTO THE VALLEYS LATER WEDNESDAY
NIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE
WEAKENING. THESE WINDS WILL ALSO BRING A VERY DRY AIR MASS TO
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA...WHICH WILL RESULT IN WIDESPREAD HUMIDITIES
BELOW 10 PERCENT BY LATE WEDNESDAY LASTING THROUGH THE END OF THE
WEEK.

SOME UNCERTAINTY EXISTS IF THE GUSTY WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH VERY
LOW HUMIDITY READINGS FOR LONG ENOUGH DURATIONS TO WARRANT A RED
FLAG WARNING. THE BEST POSSIBILITY EXISTS FOR THE MOUNTAINS...WITH
SMALLER CHANCES INTO THE VALLEYS. AS A RESULT...A FIRE WEATHER
WATCH HAS BEEN POSTED FOR THE MOUNTAINS...BUT HEIGHTENED FIRE
WEATHER CONCERNS WILL EXIST FOR THE VALLEYS AS WELL...ESPECIALLY
THE SANTA CLARITA AND EASTERN VENTURA VALLEYS.
