[californiadisasters] Admin Read: The Hacker Is Hacked

We figured out who the hacker was whom posted a bizarre message apparently by me on this email list a few days ago which message included a lewd link.

Whom this person probably  was seemed apparent enough from the get-go to wit, former and now-banned member Steve Rieger who had been publicly chastised here for doing the moderators job unsolicited.

However, with a little detective work we were able to prove incontrovertibly that he was the source of the bogus message appearing to be a group posting from me.

He has now been banned from this group and its discussion group as he already was from USDisasters group for previous transgressions there.

He had stirred the shit here before on a variety of topics including Reasonable Use Laws and how they apply to group postings.

His action constitutes a violation of Federal Law and although we maintain no illusion that Federal prosecutors would waste their time on such a case we will be informing a variety of relevant parties including other list-owners not to mention Yahoo Groups and Google Groups to universally ban him.
