Re: [californiadisasters] Re: A why is it?

Here's a copy of it. (I wouldn't do this for just anybody. <g>)

=================
I'll take the chance of getting political and say I agree completely with
both of your statements.

As to the first, I am:
From my paternal grandfather, Dutch from the 1630s, Amerindian, French;
From my paternal grandmother, Scots-Irish from the 1840s, German, English;
From my maternal grandfather, Catalan>Spanish>Cubano (that line's genealogy
had to be published in Catalan, Castilian, English, and French because we're
so "multicultural") and English, from the mid 1800s;
From my maternal grandmother, English/Quaker/(egalitarian) from the 1600s;
American (without hyphens--also mono-lingual [not bragging about that]).
=================

One of the reasons we try to take these "not a CA disaster" things to the
Discussion group is that many of our members don't want to have any exposure
to all this traffic (and in fact, we've gotten a couple of complaints
today).

Obviously you have your reasons for joining or not joining a group; let me
note, however, that there is value to being in the discussion group,
especially when the main group gets locked down for an active disaster, but
also for "fun" discussions like the present. A member can have the two
groups set differently so as to control the traffic (e.g. I filter the
Discussion group into its own folder), yet still get both groups.
